Proudly giving back to Reno since 2009
At Sierra Homebuyers, we believe in more than just buying homes, we believe in strengthening the community we call home.
The Sierra Homebuyers Uplift Award
Twice each year, we select two deserving sellers who fell on hard times and trusted us to help them sell their home. Whether facing job loss, illness, family transitions, or financial setbacks, these homeowners showed incredible strength by taking the first step toward a fresh start.
Each recipient receives a meaningful package that combines a special experience with cash support: a restorative family getaway, home upgrades for their next chapter, educational opportunities, or any experience that brings joy, renewal, and hope. Our goal is simple: to turn a difficult chapter into a story of resilience and new beginnings.
A $10,000 surprise for Mike, Kimberly, and their daughter
Our first Uplift Award went to Mike and Kimberly (we're keeping their last name private at the family's request), Reno parents raising a young daughter with Down syndrome while working through serious health challenges, job loss, and medical debt. Through all of it, they stayed kind, positive, and genuinely gracious, and our own Tara Jimenez stayed in patient contact with them for months before their sale closed.
On June 25, 2026, we surprised them with a $10,000 check, presented on KTVN Channel 2's 2 Plus You Nevada.
"Walking out with my two sons to hand them that check was one of the proudest moments I have had in this business."
